Bad ass. What coating is that on the forks? It's dark!
Now if they could just figure out the tank/shrouds situation on the big bikes.

Sweet bike but $4,599!! Thats more than the YZ85 and $900 more than a KX65.

https://www.kawasaki.com/Products/2018-KX65

The 85 has practically been the same since 2002 so it's no wonder it's a little cheaper. Price will go up once the new one comes out in 2019.

Concerning the KX 65 and the new YZ 65 being $900 more it's not difficult to see why. The KX is an antique and it's no wonder you don't see many out there. They're not competitive against the KTM/Husky and they won't be against this new YZ.

Looks like they did it right. Kind of surprised it's a single radiator for balance but it certainly has enough volume to keep it cool. Adjustable bar position on triple clamp. Makes me wish we were still on 65's. Ergos are superb. Great job Yamaha!

That's a sick looking mini zinger. If I was a kid again I'd be begging my parents for that.

They dropped the linkage due to weight and clearance when talking to Yamaha rep today
Did they mention any progressive damping type set up similar to PDS needle and 2 pistons on WP shock?

If it's $4600... why not just get a Cobra for $700 more ready to race?

Possibly because the Cobra CX65 is finicky, butter framed hog? American made doesn't mean well designed.....

I have 2 years before making a 65cc decision.
Any proof of butterframes or other pos claims?
Or just hardcore Yami fans here?
I really don't know much about the 65cc game.
Looking to learn before my 2 year education becomes a real world experience.

The Husky 65 with juice clutch, lighter weight and great hardware goes for the same price as that YZ...and...it’s a Husky.

I’m jus’ sayin’...

Great hardware? We’ve spent the last 4 years racing KTM 50&65’s (which is what the Husky is no matter how you look at it) and they are junk.
My son moved to 85s this year a year early because he wanted to ride Kawasaki and it’s without a doubt the best move we’ve made. The build quality of the kx is far superior to the little ktms and I’d guess the yz65 will be the same. A couple of pounds in weight is a small price to pay for Japanese build quality and reliability (and decent brakes) if you ask me.

The kickstarter overlapping the frame makes it look like an afterthought.. nit picking I know but I expect to see that on Chinese knock offs, not an all new race bike from Japan.
