Speedway races break up the schedule. Bring them on. 3 or 4 a year would be fantastic.

i am sure Bristol would be glad to host one and they already have the dirt.
Bristol would be a typical open air stadium course. They don’t have a tri-oval or infield grass and too much infrastructure anyways.

Talladega, Texas, Charlotte, Nashville, Richmond, Kansas, Chicagoland all have viable tri-oval grass.

Iowa Speedway. It sits on Interstate 80 and is a rocks throw from Interstate 35. It has its own airport and of course great Iowa dirt. The drawback would be an only April or May race because of weather.

This year the tracks have been terrific, until they got to the football stadiums.

It's time for speedway and baseball, 1 or 2 football stadiums max

Good call, forgot about Iowa. How far is that from Iowa 80 truck stop. Bucket list stop.

As a television viewer, I do enjoy the speedway races. I'm in Nashville, and considered going to Atlanta this year but was worried you wouldn't be able to see the race as well as you could in a stadium. I've only gotten back into watching Supercross the past couple years, but did go to the Georgia Dome twice back in the 90s. Did anyone go to the Atlanta race and can confirm whether that's a better venue to visit next year than say St. Louis or Indy?

Daytona is my favorite race of the season, and this year was the first year I went! (flew down from Jersey.) Was trackside up against the fence, couldn't possibly get any closer and my guy Tomac did the burn out right in front of me! Atlanta speedway is a very close second for me

These races are always the most exciting, and the layouts are always great, with a mix of technical and high speeds (minus the gnarly 125 footer, but imo that was sweet albeit dangerous for the riders.)

I feel there should be more speedway races on the circuit, and this will also help alleviate the argument that "the bikes are too fast for indoors".

Thoughts?
You mean make the MX season longer and SX season shorter?

I hope they do more rounds at these oval venues (or other non-traditional places). With the way track design has stagnated and bikes evolving from year to year we are way past the traditional baseball stadium SX tracks with 42 second lap times. There is a place for those too but we need more variation.

What about those smaller ovals where Flat Track races? Not HUGE like Speedways but they could all be very interesting. With some Bankings as part of the track!! (Texas, Charlotte...)

Non moto people probably prefer the stadiums. They hear about a dirt bike event at a major stadium and they buy tickets. Probably not so much if its held at a speedway. It automatically gives the event status if held at a stadium. Just a guess.

Love em to. This won’t fly well here but i liked this track way more than Daytona, and same thing last year.
I agree with that! Atlanta track was much better than Daytona IMO.
But the legacy of Daytona will always win hearts no matter what.

I prefer the longer lap times as the tracks hold up better. 45 second lap times = shit hole track.
