Also a mention about Searles time in the mx1 class after showing Herlings a clean set of heels on more than one occasion during the mx2 class

Nop, Ramon won two races and took world title, despite not winning a single Grand Prix that year,
Yep, I wasn't sure whether it was races or grand prix , I just remember Coppins being quite bitter about it on an interview.
Coppins was definitely the dominant rider that year until that unfortunate accident.

251 Racers compared to to 71 speaks volume though.
Byrner was around a long time and was always in the mix.. thats a long time to be upfront and to have never won a race.

Especially the teams he was part of Byrner. He was always on the big factory teams with championship winning team mates

Jeff Liesk might have the best average finish without an overall win. Apparently he won a 125 moto in 1987 but I can't find the specific result.

Heath Voss' stats in the Vault are split between Heath Voss and Heath D Voss. He's done more than 86 races...

Myerscough was super fast, I got to watch him in 79 and 80, and rode with him in 81. He was super fast and had a super clean style. It’s a shame he got sick.

I was fairly young when Myerscough was coming up, but didn’t he first get sick before he turned pro? I thought that he had been sick just as he was getting off minis, then fought back to make it again but when his blood issue returned it was worse and he didn’t recover to the same level.

I remember an MXA story about him destroying all the top guys at Mammoth one year and the story sounded pretty freaking heroic.

I was a little young to get to know him when he was on minis. I got to know him a little in 81, he wasn’t racing, but he would ride sometimes with the Suzuki guys, and I rode with them. I know in 81 when he rode, he wasn’t able to ride full motos.
He may have won 2 nationals, but he also had that much talent and was cut down short before he could achieve all he could.

Just the way the dice rolls sometimes

original post was about AMA PRO race - has Trampas Parker won an AMA Pro race?
I think he has one 125SX podium, one or two full AMA seasons, but he is 2 time world champion and an AMA Hall of Famer

From Racer X Vault. Just used the "Individual Races" tab which is based on Overall results for both MX and SX in all classes

Two Aussies on the podium but not the top spot.

Looks like Australia is the best country to not win the never won a race category 😂
