In the first post if the first pic doesn't come up if you click on it it comes up. Don't know why.

It's with a very heavy heart I had to say goodbye to my boy today, he was 8 years old. He had a build up of fluid around his heart. Thankful we got him to the vet early and he didn't have to suffer and he went very peacefully with us by his side. He came to me with his head hanging low and rested his head in my hand like he was saying goodbye and he knew it was time. It was the hardest thing I've ever had to do, he was a son to me.

So go hug your pups and be sure to cherish them!

Rest easy Charlie...I love you

So sorry for your loss. It's seriously one of the hardest times you can go through.

I fought my gf for years on a pet cause shes never had one. So she hasnt been through this yet. Its terrible. We just lost my horse of 22 years. Mostly because of a terrible vet and a dishonest university of illinois and I'm still not over it 10 months later.

Thank you, Im sorry for your loss as well, it is a very hard time. I haven't had a dog since I was a teenager and I was reluctant to get another because even now I remember how hard it is to loose them when they go. They bring so much joy to our lives but unfortunately they are not with us for very long.

I'm 61 years old and have had dogs beside me since I was born.
I know how much heartache is involved with every loss.
Just remember how cool that dog was, how much he loved you, and how much the next one needs you before you need him. Then he starts taking care of you, and eventually he'll need you to take care of him again.

I don't know if that made sense.
I hate this subject.

Brought home a little Shepard this weekend. Dad is a white german shepard and mom is reverse masked shepherd. Could have got papers for it but she will just be a family pet. She is driving my aussie nuts tho, never thought I would see another dog with more energy.

Well, between me working alot and my male aussie being.. male. My little puppy got knocked up before I got her fixed. At only 9 - 10 months. She shocked us all, had 6 healthy babies and snapped straight into momma mode. This will be her only mess, she is getting fixed after these.

I've always been a pit bull guy. Smart, tough and loyal. The wife felt the same but was worried about the over protectiveness. Got this little gentleman. Built like a tank and tougher than a $2 steak. He's a keeper.

Daughters puppy Beans is a year and 3 months now and is 50% larger than any of his siblings Blink . He’s freaking huge and still growing like a weed. He’s just under 100 pounds now but should weigh in triple digit numbers soon.

Maggie is half boxer, half Rhodesian ridgeback and almost 10 years old. Great dog for $50 off of Craigslist. Corgi Sara belle was one of the best ones we’ve had too but we had to put her down last year unfortunately.

Thought I would put my crew in. We have 3 Hungarian Puli's and a Tibetan Mastiff. I posted a few pics in the spoilt pets tread.

We had had Puli's for years and have fallen in love with the breed. 2 of these were rescues. Laura Ashley at the back was kept in a cage for 7 years because she wasn't breed standard. When we got her she couldn't walk let alone jump upstairs or on the lounge. 3 years later she is absolutely beautiful. For a dog to be treated so badly and still have unconditional love is amazing.

Jeannie on the left was handed back to the breeder due to anxiety so we took her in. Still a little skittish and only really likes our immediate family but we love her and is quite the character.

Ashie the one on the right is the biggest Diva of a dog you have ever met. I am pretty sure she thinks we are all beneath her. She is so loyal and just has to be next to you at all times, even as I type this she is scratching me to get my attention.

Ashie

Yes, I have tried to give a treat to the wrong end when they are laying down.

Top to bottom

Laura, Ashie, Jeannie

Sally is our Tibetan Mastiff and guardian of everything on our property. We don't even bother to lock our house. She is a 50kg ball anger if she doesn't know you. I thought I was pretty experienced in dog behaviour and management until I got a TM. Definitely not for the faint-hearted. We love her lots and have learnt to live with her quirks.

Not sure how this is comfortable but she makes it work.

Always watching

I’d bet if you found out who Laura Ashley’s original owners were, and beat them to death, you’d probably walk away scott-free…

I don't know how people can be such grubs. She was rescued by the breeders of the other 2 Puli's, she wasn't one of theirs. They didn't know what to do with her.

We got to know the breeder quite well and I was doing some building and excavation for them when they got her. She was going to be euthanized because she was so bad. I took her home and we washed her every second day to try and get the smell out of her but couldn't. We ended up clipping her and she is happy so we keep her short, Jeannie is mid-length and Ashie the Diva is breed standard but I clip around her eyes.

She is a great addition to the family and am glad we are able to give her a spoilt life. She sleeps on the bed, down by my feet. My wife wasn't too happy but she is so quiet and well behaved I don't even know she is there.

Sometimes, no matter how hard we try, they still get sucked into that gang life…

Now this is a nonmoto thread I can get behind! These are my two monsters, 11 and 9 this year, I know the day is coming somewhat soon and I dread it. But until then we live it up as much as possible.
