I'll be burning through my last 3.5 gallon's or so of VP 110 tomorrow , and thought maybe I'd try C12? One of my best friend's is a VP dealer and I can get the fuel for pretty cheap. I don';t want to use any "pre-mixed blend " , as I want to run my 927.

My 125 has the ports cleaned up just a little ( nothing crazy ) , and am running a high compression insert , V-force reeds , along with a modified PWK 38 with a STIC metering block. I've been running it at 40:1 , with about 2/3 race gas , 1/3 non-ethenal pump gas.

Is C12 worth a shot if I can get a good deal on it?

Who built your motor? Maybe they would have some input. You might also have to do some jetting when you switch. Your buddy the VP dealer might have some good info about the switch.

Havent tried it in a 125 but ive ran both in my 4 strokes and they felt the same to my butt dyno. A vp rep also told me theyd work. I dont see why they wouldnt in yours.

+1 on the T2. U4.4 has more oxygen though and makes more power. I’d run those over C12.

VPR will let you use your own premix, it's T2 without the oil.
As stated U4.4 has the most Oxygen, should make the most power.
But I must say I recently tried VP113 and my 250 2t never felt better.
I would highly recommend VP113 over C12. Unless it was air cooled.

Damn! I got some choices here.

The T2.....what oil is actually mixed in there? And what is the octance level? 110 - 112? 40:1 is what I have my bike jetted for , and it runs strong on that mix , with the 110. I rode with my buddy Chuck today , and I can get anything I want / need.

Don't really want to go to the oxygenated fuel , as it can get expensive , and not sure how much it cuts down on motor life.

And this VPR......octane rating on that?

Btw....thank you for the info. Had no idea on the VP 113.

I really like the T2. Trouble is, hard to get where I'm at. Have to special order it. It's mixed 40:1 with Vp's own premix oil. I used it for about 10hrs on my 150SX. Just pour it in and go. Currently I'm doing 50/50 C12 with 93 pump. Mixed 40:1 with Maxima K2.

VPR and T2 both 105 RM/2
Could be borderline if your running a high compression head.
C12 is your best choice if you don't want an Oxy fuel.

I love C12. Only other fuel I’ll run is VP110. C12 is always first choice though!

I love talking fuel! Just seems to be that final point to making a bike rip, just something about it!

Anyway, you will love C12 for sure. Don't go oxy, I am telling you, DO NOT DO IT! If you do forgo my warning, you will become an addict without a doubt! One dose of MRX02 and you will be lying to you wife about BUYING more, and downplaying the $35/gallon price tag!

I am hooked on the stuff=== so much that I rinse my tank/carb at the end of the day with c12 like its a cheap-o fuel!

Let us know how it goes!

I run C12 in my 125 mixed 50/50 with 91 pump. I only have the head ported and polished. Normal compression. Runs amazing!

T2 IS oxygenated and runs cleaner than anything I've tested before. I run mega compression with 0.8mm squish on my rm144 and no trouble... it's cheap enough because you dont need to buy oil as well. Pour and play on out tc125 also.

No brainer fuel..... it's just easy life.

I really liked the T2 as well, covienient for sure, definately cheaper due to not buying oil. I still keep coming back to VPR though and mixing it with my favorite oil, same 40/1 just seems to run a bit better with the different oil I’m using. Definatley give the T2 a try at least once though man.

p.s. Ive searched a bunch to try and find out what oil is in T2 and it seems like its top secret. “Rumored to be a Maxima oil” is as close as I’ve found anywhere.

What kind of compression you running Jeffro? Do you need that high of an octane rating? Also, what's the humidity like up there? Some of those race fuels soak up the moisture like crazy. They'll get cloudy with moisture being absorbed in the fuel if you leave it in the tank for more than a short period of time down here on the Gulf Coast. Fresh fuel always when running the good stuff. Pour a little in a clear glass and let it sit out overnight. See what happens.

Oh man,.....well , long story short , I finally got to throw a leg over a 19' KX450F yesterday. I've been on nothing but 2 strokes for about 3 years , except my little stint on my 16 Kawi. I've gotten so familiar with them , that I totally felt like a fish out of water on that bike. ( Btw.....huge thank you to Pummel "Ben " ) for letting me try it out.

I went into it with an open mind and got off it with the same memory I got on my 16' . And that it was indeed an awesome bike , but for me it's just to much for a track bike. Like.... anything past about 6 - 8 minutes , getting a bit tired....I don't want to be on a bike like that. I don't get that feeling , or as tired on my 2 strokes. I definitely think it's a power thing and the way these new 450's put all of it , instantly , right to the ground! Incredible feeling for sure , but something I can't ride aggressive without killing myself.

I had two bikes to choose from for this next season. The Kawi 450 or the TC 250. I've gotta get the TC , since it's what I already know I'm comfortable with. Riding my TC 125 is Freakin' awesome.....but if I had 10hp more , it would be a dream come true! I think with the time I've spent on these two strokes these past 3 years , I just can't seem to come to terms with these new 4 stroke's.

When was the last time you rode a 250F? I was on a 99 KX125 and wanting that extra 10HP but in no way wanting a 2 stroke 250. When Yamaha landed with the 250F back in late 2000, my deposit was in months in advance. It seemed to fill the void between a 125 and 250 2 stroke perfectly. All the way up until it grenaded in grand fashion. Woohoo

I keep wanting to try out a new KTM 250F. Too much work and near zero play time anymore so definitely not in the market for one, just want to spin a few laps.

Hey Newmann..... honestly I'm not sure what my compression is. I have the factory head insert strait from Husky. Dome is definitely shaped different from stock. But between that , the new carb with the STIC mod , Reed's , ect..... I'm not sure what actually helps more then the other. I can jet the carb pretty well , and just yesterday , I had it tuned to perfection! Christ that 125 was Freakin' singing!

Moisture.....yes we get a lot here. If I know the bike is going to sit more then a few weeks , I'll drain it into a 5 gallon steel fuel drum.

I may try a few cans of the C12 , since I still have like 2 full big bottles ) of 927 sitting here. But I may get one can of the T2 as well

I like the 250F's. The newest one I have ridden was a 16' Kawi. But even then , I preferred my 06' RM 250 to it. I think this 2 stroke poison has taken over so far in me now , I just can't see myself switching back. And good dang man..... I'm still buzzing from yesterday on that 125. Don't know exactly what it was.....bike ran perfect , track had an awesome layout , dirt stayed perfect + I was feeling it. About as perfect as a riding day that I could ever ask for.

Glad to hear about the killer moto session, know the feeling, been loving the 2 stroke life these last couple of years! I got to ride a ktm 150 at a demo day last year, thing was sweet! Just throwing that out there too, not sure if you’ve had a chance to ride one.

I may later down the road try a 150cc barrel on my 125 one day. But the way this thing rips now , I'm pretty happy with it. And I think getting the 250 will just be a perfect match with my 125. Wish I would of dug the Kawi , but I think I've just gotten to the point where I don't feel comfortable pushing a 450 out on the track any more.

And this VPR......octane rating on that?
oxygenated fuel does not reduce engine life at all and all pump fuels in california and arizona at least have some oxygen during parts of the year, but fuel with high levels of oxygen can be very hard to properly jet.

c12 is pointless if your engine does not ping now but you could probably mix it 50/50.

Ive had 2 VP reps recommend VPMS98L for non ox fuel for my stock YZ. (for anyone looking for stable jetting in stock motor.) Its been perfect.
10/29/2018 8:26pm
Vp110 and c12 are very similar. C12 does smell better though...i have people who come in and buy that from me over vp110 just for that reason hahaha. But if you're curious I say give it a shot especially if you can get a deal on it. If you said ur cutting vp110 50/50 with 93 pump ur getting a 101.5 octane right now. Doing the same thing with c12 will bump you up to a 102.5. Not a huge difference but you may get a little more snap out of it. I cut my fuel just like you did with vp110 for years in my 05 KX125 and the thing ran great. Just be careful with going to high on the octane though. I thought since running 110 50/50 was working so well that running it straight would be that much better...wrong...it ran like garbage, spitting and sputtering non-stop. Your port and polished cylinder and high compression insert will definitely help you run that higher octane though. But like another poster already said you may need to rejet.
