I do agree but also think Vlaanderen will be much better this time. Coldenhoff has only really had one good race this year so far, yet Vlaanderen is easily top 5 in the class. We will just have to wait and see but i still feel like Netherlands ae the favourite to win it.

Lots of ifs here cause who knows who the US will actually send over, but if it is a full speed Tomac, Sexton and Deegan how could the US not be the favorite or co-favorite IF the track is dry?  On a wet track the NLD has an advantage for sure.  I would put Sexton and Herlings as being fairly equal, I think Tomac finishes better than Calvin, and Deegan and De Wolf are fairly even IMO.  It just could come down to who has better luck, better starts, etc.

France has too many question marks right now with who their 3rd rider would be and Vialle has been a couple ticks off.

Australia's 250 rider will keep them from winning.  Jett and Hunter would almost need to go top 4 in both of their motos for them to have a chance at the top step IMO

It's very weird, it's like wide open but also only a few teams that could actually be battling up front. The top 3 will most likely be USA, NED and AUS. Belgium could really surprise everyone if they can stay on 2 wheels. Very true with France they are such a big question mark at the moment. If it's wet and muddy then depending on who GB send, they could snag a podium or a top 5, they somehow always pull it out of nowhere when it's on home soil. I also think though Kyle Webster could be surprisingly good, he does have a lot of pace and is always a very good starter which is critical in these races. USA with whatever team they send either Tomac or AP will be good and consistent. Chase is looking very good right now and it seems he is somehow only getting faster. Either way with any of this the MXON always has very big surprises and I think this year could have some of the best battles we've seen in a while.

France is always one of the top dogs in the MXdN, regardless of the riders. Vialle is a different guy on home soil tracks.

Was there: 2005-06-07-08-09-10-11-14-15

Best MX race event ever, not doing latest of pure lazyness…

Just saying, dont ever count out France….

If Renuax can get up to speed by the time the event comes around that’s a very strong team.

Renaux is in for this weekend. Should have plenty of time to get up to snuff

He's still young and racing a 125. He's doing well, but maybe they thought the lack of experience was a drawback.

I agree, but Stauffer hasn't raced all season and is coming back from a broken neck I believe.

I just took a look at his Instagram and he raced earlier this month.

Stauffer has been amazing since his return. He's by far the best Austrian rider right now.
SInce his return he won EMX 2T in Loket, 3rd in Gaildorf ADAC including a moto win where he straight up beat Tixier, Nagl and Koch, and last week went 1-1 at the Austrian nationals.

Interesting what will happen to Team New Zealand. Crawford out with wrist injury. Does Natzke take the spot, does he want to take the spot as a “second best choice” rider according to MNZ

I hope Natzke tells them to pound sand and doesn't say yes.

The way Hunter is riding I don't think it's outlandish that he could get a couple of top 5 finishes; the only guy in the US better than him at the moment is Chase.  Jett should be back to full speed by then and we'd be counting on a couple of top 3 spots from him.  If Webster can nail a top 10 in one of his motos that would put Australia in a very strong position.

You're right, I've missed that. He will line up in MXGP this weekend.

I saw Team Belgium is going to be the Coenen Brothers and Liam Everts. Is this one of the youngest teams ever for the MX Des Nations? The Coenen brothers are 17 and Liam is 20.

It's pretty crazy. I would have never thought he'd come back that strong. It's like he never got hurt.

Fredsoe on 450? That's weird choice. 🤪

FRA - NED - BEL - AUS - USA are all podium teams...  Might be a couple others too.  That's why we drop the gate and let them race, going to be some top dogs not on the podium.  Probably 8-10 teams that think they can/should top 5....

BEST MX EVENT OF THE YEAR!!!

Belgium is the one team that could podium or completely implode and no one would be surprised either way.

The RacerX article with the mention of a 5pm AMA deadline was 16 hours ago. What time is it now in the States?

Team USA’s lineup for the 2024 Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations is two-thirds of the way to being settled. Newly-crowned AMA 450 Pro Motocross Champion Chase Sexton and his Red Bull KTM teammate Aaron Plessinger are both confirmed for the team’s two 450 spots. Sexton will be the captain and race in the MXGP division while Plessinger will be the Open rider. The event will take place October 5-6 at Matterley Basin in Great Britain. The big question is over whether or not AMA 250 Pro Motocross Champion Haiden Deegan will participate. He is reportedly seeing a doctor today get his wrist checked, as he needs to determine if he needs time off after the season for minor surgery. The AMA has apparently given him a deadline of 5 p.m. this afternoon to make a final decision.

I think Johnny Ringo was on to something when he said make Sexton the MX3 guy. AP is in good shape, but back to back races could be difficult, whereas Chase would probably be ready to go for a third consecutive moto. That’s also why I hope Deegan goes. We know he isn’t getting tired with back-to-back races.
