I refuse to add up what I spend on bikes, entry and race fees, gear, any of it. It’s undoubtedly an outlandish number but moto is second, only to my family, of the things that keep me sane in an insane world.

I got about $5k into this ‘04 RM 250 build. I loved my YZ but this thing is very YZish and fully built to my liking. This bike reminds me that dirt bike technology has made some strides but not as far as you think (for 2 strokes anyway).

I think it’s cool. He’s made a lot of progress over the years through pure hard work. I don’t care what connections Kris has, Aden had to put the work in to get where he is. Hope he can get near the top 10-15

CFMoto has had an interesting curve in the states. Most of their sharp rise domestically can be tracked back to the 'rona days when they were out-producing all the other manufacturers in the four wheel off road space, and doing it by a wide margin. I was working for another competing OEM at the time. It was pretty wild watching...

+1 interest from me as well. Current winter project is rebuilding my old 04' YZ250 that I bought back from my Dad a couple years ago. I would also be interested in a "group buy" with other folks in the future if that makes things more appealing from a financial perspective. There's enough YZ250 fans out there these days. Also...
I hate to be a disappointment, but currently I'm not offering this as a service or a product, but if I do, I will come back here and make it known... I have a working setup that is proven to be very durable, but lack a good business / production plan that makes sense for me and for potential customers. More than likely, I can come up with a shift fork upgrade kit this year. I did some simplifications and improvements on the gearbox upgrades a year ago while building some bottom ends for a pro racer from the northwest...

cwtoyota Liked a reply to forum topic Shorter shifter lever for the 19-22 Austrian 350F?

That's great info. I'll keep that in mind as a potential solution. So you're getting -18 length with the 125cc shifter. If I add a +10 tip to that, I'm at -8mm which would be fine. In terms of clearance, it's forged aluminum and could be tweaked outward a little with some heat. Follow that with a water quench, then some artificial aging in the toaster oven and the strength would return.

In my opinion, you are correct about where your foot pivots and the effect of wider pegs. The reach to the shifter is a lot longer when measured from the front edge, that's what I originally checked with the same thought process of pivoting on that edge to shift. Above I referenced the centerline of the peg to eliminate the peg width as a variable from the conversation... Front edge of peg to shifter centerline: YZ125 = 140mm (2010 YZ250F pegs) YZ250 = 140mm (Aftermarket same width as the YZ-F pegs) KX500 = 133mm (2010 YZ250F pegs) KX450 = 133mm...

I can’t contribute to the differences between the two specs of the pipes. But I wanted to share a tip for keeping raw pipes looking good and easier to maintain. Clean your exhaust up really good and coat it with Cerakote wipes ($15 for 10 wipes on Amazon) and it keeps the rust off. The only place I have to touch up is the initial curved section. Very minimal scuffing in that spot then reapply and it looks perfect again. The main portion of the exhaust doesn’t get hot enough to do anything to the coating. It does give a...

“We did everything on this 350 build that we’ve done on every 350 we’ve built for the last ten years. We did everything under the sun, sent the ECU to Twisted Development, Decal Works graphics and seat cover, and Dunlop Tires. Thanks to Dunlop for sponsoring this video.” Followed by 2 minutes of warming the bike up in the pits, 2 clips of it on the track, and then 10 minutes of rambling about tunable ECUs and acting like it’s the first one to ever exist.

I'm pretty sure those are MOLEX 1490 (5.03mm pitch connectors that are available from almost any electronics supply house). Get the part numbers and search for what you need using something like octopart.com Digikey, mouser, RS-Online, and many more suppliers have pins, sockets, housings, crimpers, etc. Pins & Sockets: https://us.rs-online.com/product/molex-incorporated/02-09-1119/70190617/ https://us.rs-online.com/product/molex-incorporated/02-09-2103/70190682/ https://us.rs-online.com/product/molex-incorporated/02-09-1104/70190739/ https://us.rs-online.com/product/molex-incorporated/02-09-2118/70190616/ Housings: https://us.rs-online.com/connectors/rectangular-connectors/soft-shell-c…

Couple issues in that picture. I would suggest cleaning up the routing and making sure that everything has enough relief - especially when the bars are turned full lock in either direction. PNWMXer Liked a reply to forum topic Can Anything Replace the Joy of Moto?

3/20/2026 5:35am
Nope. I have quit riding moto three times in the 35 years since I started and couldn’t find anything to replace it. Mountain bikes were/are fun but not the same, shooting is fun but not the same, etc. Flying was very close for the ability to “check out” from daily life like truck referred to (one of my favorite parts of moto as well) but ridiculously expensive. I suspect any good motorsport would come close to or equal moto, but cost becomes a factor really quickly, especially on four wheels. One thing I have done is switch to being more...

Yeah a good tracked skiddy is a must IMHO. You just can't shape berms and faces as well with a regular tractor/bucket. If I had $$$ I'd also have a water truck. I prefer a tiller to discs but you need a ripper to go with a tiller. Our clay/topsoil mix needs ripped deep at least 3-4 times a year to stay workable with the tiller. With clay, if you can get a source for sand and/or sawdust to blend in you can make it a lot more manageable. But every track is a ton of work. 4 or 5...
