Show and tell time! I don't know about anyone else, but I'm a whole 4 days into working from home and already trying to figure out ways to stay entertained. Post up the oldest pic you can find of yourself on a trip/at the track/riding your bike/something dirtbike related.
I know I have an older film print of myself in the mid 90s on an '88 KX80 somewhere, but this will have to do for now. 1992 RM125 around 1999 or 2000. Either first or second trip ever out to Dove Springs, CA. This area isn't too far off the road and still looks exactly the same. These early trips to the desert are what made me fall in love with dirtbikes and is still the first thing I think of if anyone asks me how I got into the sport. I have many memories of being led on what felt like the longest trail rides having no clue where we were. Those earliest days of "venturing out" are impossible to replicate when you get older.
Untucked jersey? Yikes... Went through the over-the-boot pants phase for a short time after this too.

Awesome thread James!
Edit: yup, pops and I had those shitty levers.
I had no idea how cool I was at the time with the Bassani pipe.
Preston Petty tool box/number plate because dad took us to Baja a fair bit. Glory days!!!
Me and my brother at Valle de Trinidad. He's on a MR-50. We would ride from Valley T up to Mike's with our dad in the van behind us keeping watch. My brother went on to ride the Baja 1,000 something like 22 times, being 250cc class champ a couple times and heading up the Honda B team effort a couple times.
My brother. Rigid frame QA-50. No helmet. Hang Ten shirt. Punk rock.
Indian Dunes. Too big for the YZ-80 (the monster shoulder pads don't help. haha) but we couldn't
afford a new bike. And who really cares? Just a kid having a shitload of fun. To this day, I still hold
my feet goofy like that in a turn. Arrrggghh!!! hahahha
Somewhere in Baja. A ranch just outside of Tecate, I think.
If my son was playing it'd be this one
If my daughter was playing this one
Fun thread thanks

1979 at Antler Lake, Alberta a legendary track of the Canadian Nationals for many years. Suzuki RM80, I'm 10 years old same as my number. Not sure why my ass is on the saddle, but I bet I got a talking to post-race about it! Pretty sure this race was in late September, based on the tree colours. This is the oldest photo I have at hand, but '79 was my second season of racing and I'd been riding since I was 3.
The trickiest part was my brand new Blue Arai Helmet.
1979 YZ80F - Glory year. A grade club champion (As someone mentioned - giant shoulder guards make me look bigger)
1977 YZ80D - Outgunned by the wealthier kids on 1978 “E” models “With Monoshock!!”
Making motorcycle noises, and “Crossing Up” like the guys in the magazines (Wearing treasured “Kawasaki” T shirt)
