It's interesting, he explicitly states "I'm not doing this for the money", but then also says he won't race next year unless he gets an offer for good money.

He also says he's doing it for the fans, but he only does what he is obligated to do for sponsors.

He contradicted the shit out of himself that whole interview. Definitely a weird one. Props to Stew as well for not beating around the bush at all, that was great. Was real confused when he said im not here to ask for fill in rides or anything but proceeded to keep saying he was available and he's a free agent. He's also choosing the fans over a Honda contract.
I took that as he wants a full ride for the year and not to wait around for a fill in.

Good Kenny needs to get away from the bike/brand that he has, IMO, experienced a lot of trauma on. I believe a fresh start will do wonders for him and his ability to sustain the whole race and season.

Is it too early to start the "Going back to join Ricky but this time on a Triumph" rumor that I just made up?

Or did I?

the WSX series is looking at moving in on outdoors with when they run, ,they have also told the manufacturers they don't want or need them,

the other offseason races never intended to clash with the USA season,
Actually it’s the other way around…the manufacturers said they won’t support the WSX….

Yeah, a stretch... But Webb might only do SX and Ken might only do Outdoors... Odd, but I could see that happening.
Webb counted his money and will retire after he sustains a minor injury in 2023. His heart is at the bank, not the track...that much is obvious .

After all that’s said it’s still cool to think about what could have been. When he came out with Honda all this years ago he had everyone covered! Everyone! And then the crash.

Regardless of where this goes, and for what it’s worth coming from me, he has my respect.

Seems like there’s another side to the story..

I’ve got a lot of respect for KR, the fact that he’s still riding is absolutely amazing. He’s still got a ton of speed on his good days and should still have more wins in him. I remember watching him on the Suzuki, he was so good on that bike. I just wish he knew how to think more and talk slower, it seems like everything he thinks just falls out of his face with no thought of how it sounds kinda whiny and diva like sometimes.

Hopefully he finds the right fit and enjoys the last few years of his amazing career.

We’re obviously talking about right now. What 2 free agents out there would do better than Kenny in a full season in 2023. By the way he’s completed 5 out of the last 6 series and finished 2-4 every time.

You can’t find 2.

Also? Look at Anderson. He hadn’t won a race for almost 5 years, switched teams and wins 9 rounds this year combined. Last year people on here were saying he should retire and that his 2018 title was a lucky season.

There’s zero reason a happy Kenny couldn’t switch teams and real off multiple wins in each series while grabbing his sponsors a ton of camera time.

My point was he won’t do a full year. That’s why I said results overall.

Gas Gas would make sense but he’s a fox guy.

I could see Husky if they detach from rockstar.

But he’s completed 5 of the last 6 series of SX/MX. He’s also finished top 4 in all 5 of those. Did he drop off from Round 1 of MX to Pala 2? Sure, but he still finished 4th overall.

You have no real data to say he won’t make it through a complete season. He literally has done it almost every year since coming back in 2019 but 1.

Honda owes Kenny nothing. They stuck by him during illness, injuries… you name it.

As far as Chase goes, heard he’s off to KTM. Epic loss for Honda as he will have more titles than Jett. That’s my bet, Jack!
Jett has more titles than chase

Maybe the payday from WSX and Red Bull Rhythm is better than the offer from Honda for a full season of SX?

James smelled so much BS in that interview, you could see it around 15 minutes into the YouTube version.
Does Kenny think we are all just stupid and can't see through the misdirection blame-shifting in that interview?
Like I've said before, he was once the golden child of the sport, with maybe 95% of fans liking him if not directly cheering for him.
Every time he posts or opens his mouth for an interview he is tarnishing it all....

My wife and I were listening to it in the car. I was thinking in my head this guy is done. My wife turns to me and says he sounds like he trying to convince himself that he still wants to race.

That didn't last long. He's already with team Stiffie. Does anyone know if that Instagram post was before or after he heard from Honda about being passed on? I could see that Honda could be tipped to drop him if they have Jet coming in and he kind of insults them out between contracts. He really couldn't be that dumb or impulsive, right?

Just to put it in perspective- he had everyone covered, for just approximately 40 minutes of racing (two main events)
After that he was chasing Dungey and crashed.

His 2021 SX season was more impressive IMO.

I'd have to imagine there's far more to the story, KR94 isn't simply the innocent victim here.

He committed himself to a competing SX series that his sponsor wasn't committed to supplying equipment for, a series that is actually attempting to conflict/compete against the series he's paid to race .

Yeah, Honda probably did have an issue with it.
For sure. I wasn't ever really clear how that was supposed to work. This might be the smoking gun for me now that you point it out. He just might not have the negotiating weight he used to now that Chase and Jett are right there.

I mean come on, that's about as close to "this is BS" as you can get without saying it, right?

Covered for what 1 or 2 and a half races, kinda like Eli did 2015 outdoors? Injuries are a part of the sport and play a huge factor in how things turn out....
