I know this will probably not go over well lol , but it looks like China's first attempt at an actual motocross bike .

Supposedly  216 lbs. and around 40 hp . At least the frame and bodywork don't look to be stolen from another brand . Not sure on price . Yeah I know fuck China but other Chinese brands are thriving here . There are even dealers that have them now .

Definitely wouldn't call it the first attempt. There's been 2nd gen CRF250/450 knockoffs around for years. Christini puts their awd system on them and sells 'em for $16k. There's even a military version fully kitted out at up to $25k. Hopefully not our military, because that'd be $25k for a chinese bike with our tax dollars, but hopefully the military of a nation that sucks is buying lots of them.

Yeah but even though there are videos of those being ridden on tracks they are still aimed at trail riding with their 260 lb. weight and mid 20s hp . The 450s are probably more like 280 lbs. and around 40 horses .  So maybe I should say serious attempt .

You're right those are portly. That thing may be lighter, but that frame looks wimpy. And what exactly is that hanging down in front of the shock linkage?

I already think the bikes are kind of meh for 10k.  I could only imagine how much crappier a Chinese bike will be.   It would be fine for a lot of people but f that…..I’m a moto snob and I’ll bet you are too.

the Chinese pit bikes look decent enough.  Good value I think for that market

A serious question, are all the big four bikes made in Japan.

I seem to remember some cr,s were made on usa at one stage.

Crf 50,s made in China.

It’s kind of cool. The front fender looks 100% better than the YZ450.

But for $5999 (close to that) you could get a 2022 Japanese or Austrian bike brand new.

So, could we have a Kove factory team?

A buddy and I grabbed one of the first SSR 250's in the US. (AsiaWing was stamped on a lot of parts, same knock off CRF250X that Christini uses). We raced it for nearly a year in a hare scrambles series back in 2012/13.

It wasn't awful.  A little slow, a little heavy,  a bit finicky.   It reminded me of a first gen WR250F.  Out of date, but not bad for the price if you're a handy and resourceful tinkerer.

We had the luxury of having a couple blown up CRFs sitting in the shop to rob parts off of for it.  It was mostly small and cheap stuff that broke/wore out really fast, but it finished all but 1 of the races we entered with it and even.

Most any importer will tell you, the Chinese can/are capable of building a bike that will compete with the big names, but it would cost almost exactly the same and they'd have to suffer for years of money loss before people took the product/brand seriously, so most think :why bother".

It’s just a matter of time before the Chinese make a serious splash with two wheels.  They already  have in the ATV arena, CFMoto as much as I hate to say it are legit.  One of the largest motosports dealers in the Houston area has them lined up with the Jap brand ATV’s.

Not 100% sure if this qualifies for what you mean by "my sport," but if you broadly mean motorcycle racing or dirt bike racing Kove is fielding factory WSBK and Off-road teams.

Quite possible, Fox, Alpinestars, TLD and Fasthouse are the most common knock-offs I see on Temu/Wish

Sometimes they relabel Fasthouse to FastGoose and that has got to be greatest brand name ever

I see Kove doing some racing ... that's a good start. Do they test and improve their products? I see the video posted above. If that's official R&D, props to Kove.

Engine looks like a knock off of pre 2014 Yamaha if I had guess.

They need to get a Team together and race it in the GPs, US, and AUS. Do they still run the Japan Nats?
