I spotted a threaded hole in the master cylinder to mound a rear view mirror

Majority of their capital investment/development is going into an E-bike, and expect a new model RMZ 450 in 25', along with the possible E-bike that year too or no more ICE bikes at all. 2025 is a major year for any manufacture as these new environmental world mandates that extort these companies financially, unless they fall in line with the climate policy makers for a net zero operation, will no longer have access to capital to keep their corporations operating.

So in short, look for a new "RME" in the next few years, and buy as many parts as you can if you have an ICE bike, regardless of the make/model.

I thought everyone must comply by 2035 or they will lose their credit rating with the world banks etc. Where did you see 2025?

So the 2021 sales figures for RMZ’s were low. Like stunningly low. There are still 21 and 22’s left on dealers floors. There is not much incentive for a dealer to order 23’s with 2 yo units still on the floor. I’m wondering if there are still any units left in their warehouse. If they don’t have a new unit on they way they are reaching a critical point in MX. This is no comment on the bike itself, but the reality of what they are facing. It’s been coming for several years and they have decisions to make. I’m not an insider but I do see the US sales figures and it does not take much projection to realize where they stand. If they want to stay in the MX business they have to come out with a new bike. The current one as good as it is is not selling. That’s just reality.
Wasn't there stories from like 40 years ago that Suzuki had a warehouse full of mx bikes?

Have you heard anything about a new bike for 23 Manny?
I’ve heard they’re sitting on the e-start engine and I’ve heard chit-chat about a next-gen bike…

But, we aren’t seeing it, are we?!

Ya know, Suzuki Japan peeps have been at the HEP pits “working on bikes” and what not…and at the same time…a certain someone named Pipes seems to be VERY UP TO DATE with the latest “goings on” at Suzuki…

I need some good news, my 20 has 93 hours on it, and I’m about ready for a new one.

I put the better part of 2 years and an assortment of types of "racing" on the Vial MX '18 RM-Z450: It was BY FAR the "Cheapest to keep Maintained" moto-track-bike that I've ridden. To this day it's the "Best Day In The Dirt” bike I've ridden, too.

Yup they are not bad bikes they just need an e start a little diet and a better rear shock out of the box and BAM and maybe some more power however they are easy to make fast, but for 99% its got more than they can handle stock. myself included

Mine has been a damn good bike, one top end, one clutch, 4 shock bearings, and just did the rest of the linkage and swingarm bearings. I have a hook up on OEM Suzuki parts and saved tons of money.

The only odd thing wearing is the rear brake master cylinder and left side subframe where my boot rubs. I started covering them in grip tape to stop the wear. I also have to replace fork bushings every 20 hours.

$14,000? I'd pay $20,000 for a bike as beautiful as that. Give me that HEP Twisted Tea Edition. KYB suspension. Hydro clutch, dunlops, i'll pay 20 stacks for something that looks good and can actually corner. I'm not here for the jump show, because I will be on a Suzuki laying her flat in a rut while you hold on to your big pig mainstream bike. Oh wow, you hit the triple? Hit that turn in 3rd gear wide open and talk to me later Cool

Let’s talk about the KTM that broke in half at ATL.

Are you talking upper shock bearing? I have a clunk in mine like when I take it off the stand and put the rear tire on the ground, or pick up on the rear to take the weight off.

Every 10 to 15 hours I would get the clunk your talking about. A new top and bearings would tighten things up until around 80 hours. I just did linkage, swingarm, and shock bearings and I have zero play at the rear wheel now, I’m very happy my 90 hour bike is nice and tight.

On the showa shock on the older rmz450, the top bearing was slightly loose and I was told its actually by design.

Even a tiny amount will be amplified when you move the back wheel.

I replaced a few lower bearings thinking it was there, thought I did the upper as well at the time, I’ve had the “clunk” for probably 12-13 hours now, I packed that thing as hard as I could with grease about 4 hours ago lol, guess I’ll order some tomorrow, do you just stick with OE?

If you zoom in enough you can still see the cable actuator - there isn’t a hydraulic slave cylinder, only a hydraulic master. Which means no updated engine cases.

The top bearings in a BFRC are the same regular needle bearings as the bottom shock bearing. I’m thinking the older RMZ had a spherical top bearing.

I only use OEM bearings and pull my bike apart to grease every 10-15 hours. Contact Paul from Armored Graphics in NC for your OEM Suzuki parts and thank me later.

In that 93hrs, what motor work have you done?

I only ask, cos it appears to be a new trend that people are doing fewer engine rebuilds now. New bike every two maybe three years, never put a spanner on the motor.

I had a 2006 RMZ450- two years service and I thought I better put a piston in it- but it didnt NEED it.
I then had an 09 which I put a tonne of hours on and never put a spanner on it, sold it on and I knew the next two owners never touched it either.

I did piston and valves at 60 hours, I needed valves but the piston look good. The guy at Bundy Build said my valve wear most likely came from over revving, my new valves haven’t moved in 32 hours. My stock clutch started slipping at 45 hours. I replaced the clutch with new OEM plates and EBC heavy duty springs and it has been good since then.

I will say I am more biased towards Kawi than I am KTM. I currently own a KTM yes, but lets be realistic.... It's clearly obvious that Suzuki is years behind every other bike in terms of engineering and progression. You can consider me an "everything but Suzuki guy" if it makes you feel better.

Suzuki’s OEM triple clamp technology is ahead of its time, Suzuki figured out how to keep the forks from snapping off in the 70’s with Roger.

You can make fun of the Suzuki's all you want but they are still a fantastic bike and look better then most of the others. Im a big guy and race B class and have no problem beating people on every other brand as well as pulling holeshots on this "outdated heavy bike". I really dont understand the obsession around here with trashing them especially by people who dont ride them or never have.

This is really nice bike.

If you have to ask, you wouldn't understand. Be happy for the guy with the new bike.
