I love blue and green on the KX's. Here's my 2007

Gold for that 80's look but silver are so much easier to maintain the look of!

If i rode a honda or Kwak i'd definitely run the old school blue seat cover and gold rims look

I think black rims would look way better especially because black and red go so well together, Would be cool to see red rims with black hubs come stock or at least red and silver hubs. I change my own tires and yes it is annoying having to be careful but if you are good it's not too hard to do and I'd probably not buy a gas gas just cause of the silver rims. I lived through the silver rim era so to me it just looks blah and old. PPL here may not agree but I bet the sales #'s would be more for gas gas if they had colored rims.

It’s kind of funny how certain bikes look better with certain colors on the wheels! For one, I have a hard time liking black wheels on vintage-bikes.

And even though the Gasgas looks clean with silver rims, it looks a bit ”tame” IMO, so I really dig the TLD-look, with black rims and also the little bit of yellow and blue on the graphics.

As already said, gold/yellow rims on a Suzuki always looks so good, but sometimes black looks really cool to (even though I’m not supermuch into black plastic and frames)!

I really like the look of this RJ-inspired YZ by Ping/Racer X!

And a couple if Hondas!

^ this

A friend of mine just laced up some silver Excels to some blue Kite hubs w/ blue nipples on his yz450f and holy crap does it look clean.

Considering doing the same to my Kawi once the black DIDs are toasted.

Gold is where it’s at. Always was, always will be.

Steve romans suzuki with his wheels was real sick this year. Not old school gold but like 05 carmicael gold Wheels style.

When was the last manufacturer/team to run SILVER rims in Supercross or Nationals? (not blue, yellow, gold or other color)

I like how things are now: the black rims on KTM/Husky/Gasgas, the blue rims on Yamaha and the gold rims on Suzuki.

The only thing that I'd like to see, would be that Honda brings back the light gold rim from 85/87 Honda. To me that a perfect match with the Honda (Why not bringing back the Flash Red color on Honda, that would set well between the orange KTM and the cherry red Gasgas)

Personally I'm over black wheels, 50+ hours and half a dozen tyre changes and they dont look as near as nice as a clean, polished set of silver wheels..
I prefer gold. Silver comes in second.

Black frames, plastic, wheels....on dirt bikes is just a bad idea IMO

Not the best view of the rims, but so happy to eliminate the black...

Man all you guys need the Baja no pinch tire tool! I've got three bikes with black wheels, no scratches. Now the donut ring at the edge, that's a different story. That's what the black paint pen is for.

I think this is a generational thing. Growing up (born in '82), every bike seemed to have silver rims stock, so of course I wanted black rims, and that still persists today. However, if I was doing a retro-build, I absolutely spec some nice silver hoops.

Speaking of black rims losing their finish, does anyone have a technique for restoring some shine? I have a set of A60's that look like a bead-blaster was taken to them. I was thinking of simply re-lacing them, but if I could polish them I'd try that first.
