Chad has always been overhyped and overrated. He's been always cocky and arrogant and btw won three titles cuz the big guys were out. He hasn't ever being a role model for the sport but people always like the rebel guy because it's entertaining but it's just that. Hey look forward for a great future for the sport the same way RC does and we all know RD type of attitude and personality is the one that can make this great again (ET also). CR is plenty of mistakes and excuses, out of the PR guy he showed us the real Chad again, he just doesn't care about others. I respect him but when you've 35 it's time to be mature again look at the GOAT mentality. The major damage this sport has is riders acting like assholes, ok for an 250 guy in his early 20 but fuck 35 and 3 kids. He's Aussie and he knows rugby and should understand this.

Funny how RD just called him lapper https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OyZK4HfbLYc
Dude he's definitely not overrated. The guy had to race both RC and JS in their prime and he did it like a fucking champ.

If I was one of the 50,000 fans who paid good money to be there, and then have a developing battle stolen by a lapped rider, I'd be pissed. I'm a huge Reed fan, but I lost a little respect for him last night.

Dungey learned lastnight to respect his competition. Give what you get. Acting like an entitled brat after the heat race didnt get him anywhere in the main. You're Ryan Dungey, just another racer. Quit acting like nobody should be attempting to race you.

Just let the teams, ama, and Lawyers negotiate the race results? The racing is done by humans with all the good and bad personalities and behavior , stop trying to legislate everything that you don't " agree" with. It's life, deal with it.

Absolutely. Rewind of 1986 Anaheim supercross. Reed is Burnworth, Dungey is Johnson, Tomas is Bailey. Paybacks a beyotch.
30:22 Johnson takes out Burnworth
36 Burnworth impedes Johnson as he is being lapped. Bailey catches Johnson

easily the best post in this thread. Also there is no way this warrants a penalty based on the rule book or precedents, at most reed could be questioned for not giving up the fast line but when the rule book basically contradicts itself (give up fast line and hold your line are both used) that can never be the sticking point for an unprecedented ruling. The AMA and FIM are super inconsistent with penalties, Tickle absolutely laid hands on Barcia no penalty. If Dungey had even shown a wheel reed would have moved out of the way, and thats exactly what the Dungey of last year would have done. Tomac is probably going to win this title and the race tonight is only a minuscule factor.

Like this is the 1st time something like this has happened to a guy in the championship chase??? Get over it Dungey, you ran your mouth about the wrong guy!!! It's not like it's the 1st time he couldn't get around Reed :lol

Don't worry fellow bible belters. I've spoken to God and the man above will judge him...

Also in said conversation, He was more upset with Barcia but was happy enough as Barcia still hasnt come to grips with being dealt a micro-penis at birth.

I think it was Bob Hannah who said, "if you see a blue flag waving at you, it means there is a race going on, and you're not in it!"
Dungey may not have had anything for Tomac, unfortunately, what possibly could have turned out to be one of the best finishes of the year, we the fans, were robbed of the chance to see it.
If there was going to be a penalty, it had to happen during the race. You really can't hand out an after the fact penalty. I wonder it the race director was thinking, "Chad will move clear this lap, oh, ok, surely, he'll do it this lap, hmmm, should I get the black flag now, he'll get out of the way any second now, no?" I doubt the referee thought Chad would hold Dungey up that long.
It was blatantly obvious thought, hell, a rock on the side of the track could tell that, and a rock can't even think.
Chad should probably just go and be a team manager or something. I mean, shit, if you want to race, then quit being a Nancy boy and grab a start, get your ass up front and race. Ok, I'm done.

Dungey is just not fast enough. All this whinging, moaning and whining - Reed was riding too fast - He should not have been racing ! WTF ? It is a race and the point is to go fast ? Or is this when I am not fast enough I will cry afterwards the new SX sport everyone wants ? The track was terrible one line track - How long did ET take to get past JG and BamBam and almost not BamBam - He did not go crying to his mommy he came out knew he had to get up front fast on a one line track did so and won ! Reed stayed on his line - Just so happened he can ride faster the RD but not for long (Fitness). He never went off line and purposely impeded RD at all - If RD where fast enough he would have passed him but he could not ! When RD eventually showed a wheel he pulled to the side. New sport CRYCROSS for all whine and moan specialists. Fast riders must get penalties for going too fast!!! Pathetic - Excuses are for losers. New rules the losers must be winner. Those with best excuses win ! The one deserving of disrespect is RD ! He Cried in his heat race , cried on TV , Cried in the main and all his supporters cried afterwards. Reeds a big man come and piss like a puppy at a motorcycle racing event what kind of baby shoes think that is Respectable ?

I was thinking the same thing as I watched this show (aka supercross race) unfold. I realize Chad's feelings were hurt but he possibly, and that is the key word here possibly altered the outcome of this race and championship!

The AMA is a nutless wonder with absolutely zero consistency when it comes to levying penalties. To my mind, if it hadn't been Chad Reed on a Monster-sponsored bike, he'd be docked several thousand dollars and would be sitting out Seattle. The issue isn't the juvenile "payback" bullshit with Dungey. The issue is that Reed simply proved that he thinks he doesn't have to follow the same rules as the rest of the bunch. Chad Reed has been a huge crybaby On & off that podium for years, so to get his panties in a knot over what RD said about him after the heat race is stupid. I could see Dungey trying hard to pass Reed cleanly, but I think he should have punted him onto the cement.

Just collecting funny nicknames here:

Douche Douche
Roadblock Reed

Absolutely 100% done on purpose, and completely uncalled for. Dungey had a point about Reed chopping his wheel in the whoops.... that's no bueno. Then Reed gets pissy and seeks revenge.

If JT could stop throating Chad for 30 seconds, maybe he would agree.

It's always been Chad's world, and everyone else is just living in it. He's always been a selfish prick. Go back and read his quotes on the JS7/Chiz incident, they're hysterical considering last night's events.

He started racing(dropped his lap times significantly) Dungey and completely ignored the blue flags, that is a black flag offence. Or at least a black/white flag.

That is a fact.

Yes Dungey should have just forced a move but he should not have to do that when he is going to lap a guy 16th. You should never have to get aggressive with a lapper.

While I personally think he should have moved over, I also don't think he did anything wrong.

I guarantee Dungey's words and actions earlier got Reed worked up. Dungey learned a lot last night, you really do need friends on the race track.

Lappers are part of the show!

If the roles were reversed, Chad & Ellie would be bitching about it all over Twitter & IG about it by now.

Not everyone will go down the line with their favorite.

I think I have clearly been one of the biggest Reed fans of all time. I was out today when it went down but saw the Twitter posts.

Was thinking it was going to be something that was blown out because it involved Reed.

After watching the race, Reed should have moved out of the way much sooner, he showed in the end that he could easily swing wide and let Dungey by.

Who knows what he was thinking, it did not look good.

Still a fan, but sort of sucked to see.

For anyone saying that Chad would not have not been happy if he was the rider coming through lapping a slower rider, you are right, but also Chad would not have been there for that long. If a lapper was in his way for one corner, Chad would have moved them out the way the next.

Section a2 says it all - When conditions allow, move out of the fast line.

Reed held the fast line for way too long.

Reed has always been an instigator and seems to enjoy playing games. I respect his decision to continue to race in his "old age" but never liked his personality for this reason.

Reed just went from being a respected (but sometimes whiney) veteran of the sport, to an shallow, vengeful old guy. Reed is aging out of Motocross and it is a bitter pill for some to swallow.

In John Updike's words: He feels the truth: the thing that has left his life has left irrevocably; no search would recover it.

I never like to see a 16th place rider affecting a race between first and second. The fans got robbed last night. Right or wrong.

For all those saying Dungey is a puss for not punting Reed, I somewhat agree, but maybe he's smart enough to realize he does that and it goes wrong and he goes down, and takes spokes out of his wheel or bends a rotor and now he's loosing more points...He had a ton more to loose than Reed. I thought there was no way Reed should've gotten the black flag with the Canard incident, but in this case definitely. I know JT$ and Pulp Guy are Reed's buddy, and cool to have your buddy's back but come on...
