Guy claimed (errr tried to) deegans bike

Deegan and Cotter allegedly take him into a office and do the good cop bad cop routine on guy

Guy and engine builder gets called over to his trainers tent (Matt walker) to be harassed and screamed at by walker and Donnie Luce played role of quiet tough guy

His sponsor/dealer allegedly was threatened by someone that Yamaha would end their dealer agreement with them if guy went through with claim

Guy drops claim

Vital begins initial melt down phase

RacerX tried to blow it over as nothing in a racerhead article

Vital commences meltdown

Interview with guy comes out

Vital REALLY melts down, pitch fork and torch sales sky rocket (rightfully so)

some Sore Loser comes on here and calls guy lier without actually calling him a lier for 21 hours straight before sleeping

Vital continues to melt down

Engine builder for guy does a couple interviews

Vital melts down some more

Oh, and based on the engine builder interview, I feel pretty vindicated. Glad I didnt rush to judgement. Derek stated his account doesnt match Brennan’s. And if Derek can come out of this feeling alright about Cotter and Deegan, there’s quite a few here that look pretty stupid.

And it aint over yet. I expect the Matt Walker interview to be interesting.

Wait you really are twisting every detail, he said almost all of his account matches brennans but not all, he also he may remember a few things differently because heat of the moment. You’re a troll to now say he has a completely different account of events. Lol this is how it gets twisted.

He most certainly backed every important detail we have heard
1. Tim cotter and BD took him into a room for much longer than DC stated.
2. Tim cotter acted as he was a head ama official
3. Donnie was being a bitch and wouldn’t shake his hand and was right in the middle of it while walker was texting Yamaha
4. Walker flipped out on him in front of the kid threatening an ass whooping that most kids would not react to well
5. His sponsors were being talked to by Donnie and walker and cotter and that most of what Brennan said is spot on and that he’s a great kid.
Now from all that you say what you said? Dude get some sleep and give it a rest, you need it. Pls quit spreading ba or we will all have mixed feelings and be confused
You just twisted his words.

'account doesn't match' does not equal 'completely different account'.

Correct. I in no way think Brennan looks worse after the engine builder interview. I expected stories to not line up fully all along. It’s been my overarching premise since post 1.

I think the engine builder did an excellent job of articulating his position, why stories (justifiably) wont match, and basically asked everyone for a bit of levity in this situation.

The engine builder was even man enough to want to apologize to Tim Cotter after all this. Yet we still see the forum dumping on the guy.

It was a hornets nest in the moment. Everyone, with exception of Brennan, probably wishes they’d acted differently. Things got said, leaked, story grew from there in the moment, and now after a few days to reflect, Derek Harris feels much different about it all - so should most of the mob. Good luck getting a refund on the pitchforks tho, the receipts were used to light the torch fires.

Heck, I bet at this point even Brennan wishes he’d done a few things differently. Like not drop the claim. Or maybe not, i dont expect adult level contrition from him. It took me 10+ years to look back when I was 17 and finally admit I could’ve acted differently in situations much less dynamic than this.

As of right now, EVERY party involved looks better than originally indicated with the exception of Matt Walker and Yamaha Donnie. They still got a deep hole to dig out of but we’ve yet to hear their side. And incredibly, ML is going to get them to talk.

After a month of defending Mav TV . Then saying it's probably the people using Flo were the problem a few weeks ago . Imo he has lost all credibility . Still love his shows and all . But he is the most biased media guy out there .

It remains unclear why Cotter and Deegan got involved. The rapid sequence of events caught folks off guard, and the decision to speak directly with Brennan was likely made w/o considering long-term implications. Claims allegedly are rare events, and neither Star nor MX Sports were prepared, nor was Brennan once non-AMA personnel got involved.

Even if Cotter and Deegan brought cupcakes to the discussion, the meeting with Brennan should not have transpired. Intimidation takes on many forms, and Deegan’s mere presence relays a distinct message.

Unrecorded meetings rarely line up identically, but overall the two videos corroborate each other. Searching for cracks in the veneer to discount the entire sequence of events seems fruitless, unless a person has established themselves as a highly credible witness to the events. This week’s interviews will be interesting, given that the interviewees have had several days to prepare.

I would just like to point out:

Deegan bike claim: 67 pages across 5 threads

All-time championship battle between Tomac and Sexton: 4 pages

Tim Gajser wins MXGP title: Tim who?

Vital's a weird place man.

100%
There shouldn’t have been any meetings or back & forth about it, complete BS!
In future the claimant needs to remain anonymous until they’ve taken delivery of bike.

Not a Matthes defender here but he has been critical of Star in the past, anyone remember the bike test that never happened?

Pure speculation but I noticed during the 250 motos Saturday there was a kid in like 40th place who’s name was Burkeen. So my question now is, is he related to this AMA official “Mike Burkeen” ?? If so then it would be even more important that I point out, he was on a Yamaha. Maybe I watch too many true crime documentaries but it caught my attention big time. Answers on this would be greatly appreciated.

Mike Burkeen is the ama official. Super nice guy.

His son Matt was pretty good amateur and been racing 250 2 stroke at the last few outdoors. Even went over the finish line side by side with Sexton on Saturday mimicking his celebration. Was pretty funny.

Look him up on Instagram

You didn’t hear what happened in the 450 class ? Riders that where in but then not. Certain riders had no lap times or much slower yet there in 25th in qualifying.

So let me get this straight, kid claims a bike then after some back and forth the claim is dropped. Then the kid leaves his trainer after the trainer confronts him about the claim and the kid also loses his Yamaha sponsor. But we’re suppose to believe there was zero pressure from Yamaha or his trainer?! What am I missing?

If it's correct Brennan no longer has his bike, yet Deegan still has his bike, that's all you need to know. One rule, only its different for them and the rest of us!

If Walker made physical threats, that's very bad. Any of us threatening someone even at the local track gets us chucked out and banned.

Ya, I'm pretty disappointed with Rallye. They've been supporting for quite a while around here. I drove by the place last weekend, likely around the time this shit was hitting the fan. I'm not exactly a customer customer but have bought some piddly odds & ends there over the years. Have some friends though that bought quite a few toys there of various types. I suspect maybe 5% of their customers would know what MX is. And maybe 1% would know what Lorretta Lynns is.

Yes. I still stand by Cotter being involved at all, taking the kid into a room by himself while the AMA official was gone tagging the bike, and then allowing Deegan to join them is one of the largest issues. Whether or not that affected the outcome does not matter. He had no business doing that as the promotor of the event. He should not have been involved in any way.

this guy is funny. He’s trying to maintain this middle of the road opinion but anyone with a brain can see his bias and obvious mission he’s on to run defense for the deegans. I just want to know who in the Deegan camp put him up to it or if it’s dirtbag deegan himself. Cowards surround themselves with like minded people so it’s no surprise he won’t be a man about who he is when a few have asked. Hope you’re getting paid for your time.

I dont feel that stupid really for calling bullshit on two grown men being in a confrontational meeting with a 17year old minor without his parent in the room.......... for 20 mins. Any body else feel stupid?

Yea, he is definitely someone thats been hired by the deegans. I think is interesting following him. Trying to show neutrality but he's slipping up. Fun to watch, adds to this shitshow, for me anyway.

Loser.. if someone asks you to walk in a room and it feels, off. Don’t do it. They might not go as easy on you being an adult and not a minor.

Not trying to take everything you say apart but you don’t ever correctly address the entirety of what’s said, Derrick said now that he’s cooled off he wishes he would have treated Tim differently in the moment only because he understands his stance as a promoter where he is coming from. He never said Tim was not in the wrong severely for inserting himself or going into a room to bully a minor. Tim was out of line and that’s apparent and Derek knows that. He just said he gets it from his perspective, it doesn’t forgive Cotters participation in the events any. Also if anything is certain after the interview it’s that they look as bad as initially thought or worse, it’s starting to narrow the truth down not the severity of the crime

I don’t think the Deegans did anything wrong here they weren’t the ones yelling at the kid and father they weren’t the ones threatening to pull dealership or fight the engine guy . I’m sure if it was my kid going for a championship at Loretta’s and still has a race to go I would want to protect my kid also and wonder if this because the pass history at Southwick few months back . I think the main problem is it’s all it is Matt walker Yamaha and the dealer going after the kid and father .

As much of a douche bag deegan is.. he’s smart. If you can’t follow the line of information I don’t know what to tell you. Matt walker is a wart on the lions ballsack compare to deegan. Deegan definitely played his role. He just knew the right people to do the yelling for him. If you don’t think he knew Matt walker was his trainer long before this and knew exactly who to text or call….

Can someone enlighten me on if I am correct on this? Sounds like Star brought a "not your typical" amateur bike for Deegan and it was claimed. Star tried to swap the motor out but had to borrow one from Ferry? Then the amateur who claimed the bike was left alone in a tent and claims that someone has contacted the dealership supplying bikes to him and they threatened the licensure for Yamaha support of that dealership if he didn't walk back the claim?
