Flat turns, wall jumps, single jumps, anything with a flat landing or a crappy landing is not fun. Anything over 65 ft should be a triple. A 110 table that only 3 guys in the money class jump is stupid.

Massive nascar style burms, any jump with a massive down ramp, double double, 6 pack, 10 pack are all super fun. Switchback turns are fun for me, I'm not big into a long straight away or a long straight down hill that gets nasty whoops. Actually tracks with the most turns are the most fun for me.

What do y'all think makes or brakes a track?

I like a track that has flowy turns. Nice jumps you dont have to hit 4th wide open with no lip,Elevation changes, sections where a fast guy can hit it and us slower guys can still make it a fun jump section without having to risk it. GOOD DIRT!

Loamy dirt, forgiving jumps, a good variety of flat rutted corners and nice tall sweeping berms.

Elevation changes, braking bumps, acceleration bumps, nasty and torn up. Nice rutted turns. Speed, speed is always good. Jumps that throw you out not up. A long track is nice.

More turns > more jumps, what do y'all think. If the track has one nice booter I'm happy if there is only one fast turn it ruins my day

Hard pack can be fun it just needs the right flow and lower speeds.

pretty much spot on, few of those here around in sweden. terrible short landings on majority of jumps i would say.

Big hills, loamy Black Soil 3’ deep, Off Camber turns, Raw…no prep. Long 3:00 track, Painted tires stacked 12 high for turns, snow fence around big berms. Few man made jumps, Sexy trophy girls. Woohoo

Big hills, big breaking bumps, deep ruts, off cambers, less jumps, flat corners.

First and foremost good dirt. I can have fun on a turn track with hood dirt. Next elevation. If you can have jumps that float you over a crest to a down hill, super fun. Third good flow. Fun corners that blend to the next. Last jumps. Jumps that are fun for all levels and that don’t hurt or severely penalize those that aren’t willing to huck an unforgiving or huge double/triple.

More turns than jumps results in more water needed which is an issue out west. So for us, more jumps than turns is preferred because it requires less water throughout the day which means they can water better in the corners and keep the moisture in. Dust bowls and moon dust suck.

I like flowy tracks with safe and fun jumps along with deep ruts in the corners plus everything else already said above.

Obstacles that are fun for novice to pro. It shouldn’t look like supercross landers. Rounded so they’re forgiving in case of error. Note to track owners- injuring your clients isn’t a great business plan for future revenue. And for all that is holy, sawdust, mulch, and topsoil are key. Best layout in the world sucks without good soil and prep.

not over prepped, i’m 48 years old and slot car 3 foot deep grooves are not fun at all… for me. I love a good berm I can cut down off of, good table top jumps that don’t have short landings. I do like small technical sections that separate riders, anyone can huck a big jump but a small double or table right out of corner that you have to seat bounce, those are fun.
Really any track that allows you to maintain your momentum without being stupid fast is what i lean towards these days!

Elevation number one, but it needs to be used well. Drop-offs or jumps down big hills. Step ups. Nice flowing turns.
Jumps of all types are fun so long as coming short doesn’t kill you and the landing is long enough to not need supercross precision not to kill yourself.

Carlsbad was always fun to race at. If it had better dirt it would have been golden.

Safe might be a bit of tall tail. Every time I’ve been there the heli is picking someone up. The last time I was there (just moved to az in Aug) they were pumping some guys chest for over an hour that had passed away. That place is fun as hell, but has some bad Indian juju

Deep prep is not always needed if they just flat blade it and clean the faces, that's enough even if its dry

variety

when i used to ride at englishtown they would change up the track every season (both practice and racetrack when there were 2 tracks)

sometimes they'd make chnages during the season as well.

Cahuilla creek is almost the perfect example. Flows so well (speed pretty consistent) , loamy dirt, elevation change, nice mixture of fast and slow corners, floater jumps, nothing crazy difficult.

I like outdoor style fast tracks. My favorite track was Carlsbad, and now Glen Helen. Big hills, no blind jumps, no gaps, and multiple passing lanes all over the track.
Stadium style parking lot tracks... meh.... not my deal at all. The only doubles I'm interested in are ones with cheese Grinning
