One can say whatever about liking / disliking E-moto bikes in general & whether some sort of 'woke agenda' ( MX bikes as the pointy end of that spear, GP ? ) is being forced upon the Moto community, but the level of commitment to total quality on behalf of Stark & this project in particular is undeniable.

For my particular usage, this bike may not be for me, but still it's worthy of celebration that an all new manufacturer is aspiring to move the needle on what we've come to know as the modern dirt bike.  Only one person in the country has one & just look at all the fun we're having ..

I dislike them because I'm burning with poor envy over not being able to afford one. I am SEETHING 24/7. I wake up drenched in sweat partly over anger, and partly over not being able to afford to use my air conditioner (if it even worked).

I don't stink up these threads. I think they're lame but I'm actually kinda excited to see them release. I'm glad all the foaming mouths are finally getting their bikes. Looking forward to whatevers next. Hey, can you paypal me some money?

I am glad you guys come to these threads because I feel there is too much joy in the universe and we need more griping in the world.

That being said....I like seeing 2 strokes, 4 strokes and these new E bikes. Something for everyone, is cool.

I don't want to hijack this thread with an unrelated argument, so let's suffice it to say that although 2-strokes are still mine and many other people's favorite, they are dead in a professional motocross context.

I don't know for sure, but I'd bet electric bikes will relegate thumpers to the practice track soon. It may take a few years of refinement, and perhaps the sanctioning bodies won't screw up the rules this time around like they did when 4-strokes came around. Who knows? All I can say is "welcome, electric."

And goodbye professional MX. If you think people are going to fill the stadiums to watch these guys ride around on what sounds like a cordless drill, you're going to be disappointed lol.

Congrats on the bike dude, would be cool to see how it rips at a place like GH with the elevation changes. The acceleration and pull on that thing has to be insane. It has to be weird at first riding to not hear the engine, have a clutch lever, or need to shift.  I hated Pro Taper bars back in the day just because not having the crossbar drove me insane but like anything you get used to it.

A valid point as all have a common sense of what dirt bike motorsports is supposed to sound & feel like.

Only time will tell about 'goodbye', but the roar of engines coming off a starting line is still a substantial thrill for even the most jaded Moto fan, electrics wont have nearly the same effect. Although .. it could beneficial for Cooper Webb, he could fill that silence with shouting down his competitors with expletives just prior to gate drop & they'd hear every word !

I'd venture that the lack of an exciting sound will be one of the (unspoken) reasons that the Stark bike, which would seem particularly well suited for SX given the comparatively short races, will encounter massive headwinds against being able to compete head-to-head at the pro level.

I'll start recording the audio now , and I'll sell tickets to come and listen to the engine sounds . I'll be rich! Since the sound of a race is the most important thing and nobody cares about anything else.

Who knows  the passing and racing itself might be more exciting ? It might make the racing even closer if the bikes are easier to go fast on right?

I know that when I'm watching the races at home I'm not hearing engines sounds so loud that I'm unable to hear the announcers . Engine noise is a little background noise during the broadcast. And it might have the opposite  effect and draw more people in. Not having to worry about their kids hearing being damaged by loud sounds?

Last time I checked SX was not raced inside of supercross stadiums. Its inside Football and baseball stadiums right?  I am not a fan of those sports. But not  because they do not make loud noises. If a silent sport like football or baseball can succeed to the point they have giant places to play the games and make so much money they let them sit more than they get used. I think the lack of ear piercing noise will not be as bad as some think.

I've seen people pos on here saying  they watch the races with the sound turned down.  The start is really the only place I'll miss the sound. But It will be nice to be able to talk to the person next to you. Or hear the track announcers telling you whos in what place. Maybe then even the racers who are not the top 3 guys will get more attention. Right now its hard to know whos in what place other than the leader if you are at a live race. Maybe that is why only the top guys are getting all the money. Maybe the loud noise is what has been keeping the sport back from seeing the numbers of spectators that Feld and MX sports are dreaming of.

And maybe you're wrong and the sport completely dies. Folks like you forget how many brands are connected to ICE motorcycles. Every exhaust company, every oil company, every filter company, coolant, spark plugs, etc. How is it a good thing for the sport/industry for those brands to go belly up?

People love motorsports for the power and thrill. To smell the race fuel, to appreciate the unique exhaust notes that you can't hear anywhere else, yes, obviously the quality of racing. But as a spectator you're high off your ass if you don't think the thrill of the machines is a major part of the experience.

4  strokes sound like crap and we all know that, in sx you cannot hear any engines in the races , they make the bikes almost silent so you can hear the commentary.

In outdoors you hear the engines a little , after market parts will exist on any product , even collectable cards ......phones etc etc

It's pure fear driven talk that ev will kill the industry, it will enable tracks to exist that cannot now, it might save the industry.....

its 4 strokes.  I quit going to SX because the noise was unbearable in the stadiums.  this was never a problem with 2 strokes.

I disagree - I think the 2-strokes will fair far better than the 4.

Funny how you quickly change like a chameleon and now that he’s got his bike it ‘s only because “he basically works for Stark”

Congrats Bryan!  I’ll be looking for you at the track and looking forward to you once again buzzing bye

Enjoy!

Every exhaust company, every oil...

I hear Racing Radios has the franchise on Stadium concession for headphone rental. You’ll be able to select from a menu of the riders and listen to 2 stroke or 4 stroke sounds of yor choice. I’m pickin the 1986 RC 250 Honda sound 😀

And goodbye professional MX. If you think people are going to fill the stadiums to watch these guys ride around on what sounds like a cordless drill, you're going to be disappointed lol.

I'm looking forward to it. Imagine all the cuss words and OMG's down on the track. Lotta "oh shit" and "WTF's" being heard throughout the stadium.

As someone who has spent a long time working to build a YouTube channel, I know how cool this is of an opportunity for you to document and I hope it performs well for ya man.  Super cool bike, can't wait to see how it does on the track.

Man, that was cool uncrating video!  I know most people here aren't into the electric bikes, but eventually that's where we will be.  I don't know if you did any uncrating videos with your Alta, but for the future Stark owners that was a great video.  I'm interested to here your reviews once you get a chance to take it out and ride it.

Congratulation's on the new ride!

Trust me, it is comical.  We all got hobbies.  Build/waste time doing/the words are pretty interchangeable, but its fun.

Adapt or die.

In your little dichotomy, one of the options is die. Which many will. If you think that we will have 45 companies thriving off of making sprockets and replacement plastics to the point of sponsoring and nourishing the sport, you will be mistaken. The reality is that many will die and that will be it. It may be edgy to post but wont pan out in real life.

I disagree - I think the 2-strokes will fair far better than the 4.

Sorry, had to. Falcon's the board's grammar guru.
