That's a fast track if you averaged 43mph
Yes i always have the bikes on the charger between motos when not riding it. Unless you are a beginner, you should expect to do the same.
Definitely impressive info. I’m no pro rider and I had the Alta limit power on me less than 20 minutes in at Cahuilla.
Your average speed is seriously high for a Mx track, is it really free flowing and wide ? What power setting are you using ?
The Shop
Where did you have the power level set ?
curious to see how long it will last in 80HP mode.
Def. free flowing. That is a solid avg speed though, impressive for sure.

The way I heard him , it sounded like they were trying to build the best MX bike ever, not just the best electric mx bike. But he also said that he thought people would be very happy. To me that was not him saying that they succeeded at building the best bike, but that it is very very close. I'm not sure if he worded it that way every time or not.
I'm not arguing that it is or is not the best bike. I'm making the point that to be the best, you just have to be better than your competition. And based on the early reviews of the pre production bikes , and production bike, it could be the best bike for a large number of people.
If Anton was saying that he made the perfect bike . Then Goldmember's arguments would might be more valid. The lack of sound might be much more important to people than a quick re fueling time and so on.
35 mins and down to 15% power. It's only gonna get worse from here.
There was one against Red Bull . People argued that they did not grow wings after drinking a Red Bull. Red Bull agreed to paying everybody who ever bought a red bull a one time payment or a free 12 pack or 24 pack . Not sure exactly on the money amount or product amount option. It could have been a red Bull publicity stunt. Not sure but it set a precedent so You might just have something. Joking about having something of course.
Awesome to see some photos and links for videos, and stuff more on track with the subject of the thread. Sorry for derailing that and bringing Goldmembers craziness back into it. I've been out in a skid steer all weekend and just got back to my computer.
He didnt start at 100% and for myself a vet rider I think I could do 3x 15 minutes with zero charging , do you have to be negative about it , people said no way can it do 35 minutes, it did ....move on
Bryan sorry if i missed it. Where did you have the regen and power level set? Thanks!
That's on a pretty fast MX track though. Remember that some people can run out of gas in a 30 +2 on a hot day with a stock sized tank. Trail riding might be a lot better than you would think. If it kept the battery cooler than moto .
Dont misquote me. 87% down to 12% in 35 minutes. Not 100% down to 12%. I USED 75% worth of battery. I would have gone further if i had the bike fully charged.
It used 75% of the battery. It was only down to 15% because he started with it at 87% and not a full charge. So it would be down to 25% or so if he started at 100% if my math is correct.......... That would be almost enough to do a local race day ( 3 laps of practice (2) 15 minute motos) in 1 class for a lot of people. And You would never be charging from dead if you started the day at 100% . You might only be charging for 20 or 30 minutes at a time to have the needed power.
So far it seems to be hitting close to what they have claimed as far as charging speed, runtime, and weight. I can't wait to see it in some local A class races. Hopefully the same guys that raced an Alta will get their hands on a Varg.
I was in 60hp mode and engine braking setting of 80% (default setting)
Bryan, thanks for the updates and clarification! How long would it take to get the battery back to a “raceable” level if you had a second Moto? And not another 30 minute one, just say a 20 minute Moto? And as a general battery question, did you find fast charging affecting the Alta battery life or performance in the past?
That's really awesome and better than I expected but to be honest they haven't tilled Cahuilla very deep in a long time that being said I was not there this weekend but was 2 weeks ago very hard pack underneath the silt ! still really cool👍 congrats on the new bike!!!
Pit Row
Is ML doing a ride review?
Great job putting out real world information!
What are you using for charging power at the track? Assume you have a generator, if so, how big and does it charge at the same rate as it does using home power?
Also curious on how long it took to recharge and did you do a second Moto with the battery being hot?
Ok. So how was she Brian?
Something is not adding up.
The track is only barely over a mile long with a 2 minute lap time so that would be like 16 laps in 35 minute so like 17 miles and you show 26 miles
Also my son was there who is an A rider and said he passed you a few times and here is a shot of his lit pro and he average only has 31.5mph.
Also the lit pro pic shows the track distance and lap time.
My guess is you rode 9 or so miles on some more wide open ground to get that kind of average speed and miles. i
Oh dang!
Interesting.
Those 2 sets of stats definitely don't jibe.
I wonder if the units displayed on Bryan's phone (miles & mph) are actually supposed to be km? If you convert them to km, then the times are much more comparable.
That would make a lot more sense. Software update incoming…
Just to clarify! I never said “I passed the e bike dude.” Paps just asked me for my average time then I told him & said that I didn’t see anybody going on average 15 mph faster than me but maybe the e bike was so quiet I didn’t notice 😂
I did see the guy out there & pointed it out to my girlfriend. Bike seems cool. Don’t bother me but I’m gonna stick with my gas powered dirt bikes for a bit no matter what the stats say about the electric bike & battery, etc. God bless.
Come on guys, 43mph AVERAGE is obviously not right! you'd be doing 60 on the straights and still taking corners at 30 to get that number.
Those numbers if metric convert to about 16 miles and 27mph.... now that I might believe!
He mentioned something about the software not yet converting to MPH.
Not sure if this has something to do with all this.
Toni sent me footage showing you going 78 mph on straights and the speed entering few corners was godly, good jobs and gb you nick
